Blackjack Rules Explanation for Beginners

To play BlackJack, you should hot in blackjack, stand in blackjack, split in blackjack and double in blackjack. Follow our guide below to learn how to play BlackJack!

The objective is to get as close to 21 points as possible without exceeding it. The cards in Blackjack are counted at their face value, while face cards (J, Q, K) are worth 10 points each. Aces can be counted as 1 or 11 points, depending on the player’s hand.

1. Hit in Blackjack

• When the dealer asks if you want more cards, it’s known as a “hit.” You can decide based on the total points you currently have. Tapping the table twice with your finger indicates you want another card, while waving your hand above your cards means you’re satisfied with your current hand.

2. Stand in Blackjack

• If your total points are over 12, requesting another face card risks exceeding 21, resulting in a bust. You may choose not to receive another card, known as “standing.” Similarly, if the dealer’s points are 17 or higher, they will also stand.

3. Split in Blackjack

• When you receive a pair as your initial hand, you have the option to “split” it into two separate hands. However, you must place the same betting amount on the second hand.
• It’s important to note that if you achieve a blackjack combination after splitting, it is considered a regular 21, and you won’t receive the 1.5-time betting amount.

4. Double in Blackjack

• “Double” allows you to double your original betting amount when your starting hand totals 8, 9, 10, or 11. If you win, the house pays you for the doubled amount. Some casinos even permit doubling on any point combination.
